Just wondering how the conditions are in the w. basin for the spawn. Trying to get a jump on future projections.

The spawn was compressed by the cold March and the week of 80 degree weather during the PWT. The worst thing that can happen as the eggs are developing, is to have heavy wind that can silt in the eggs and suffocate them , or blow them to a shore and pile them up on a beach. We've had a big blow but thankfully it was mainly west. We are expecting another. It's way too soon to talk about recruitment (the survivabilty of the larvel walleyes), but that is another hurtle to get over. In short noone knows yet if this was a successful spawn or not. Only time will tell.
