I don't "supplement" their diet beyond feeding them good food. They're healthy and happy. About the only time I would see a need to supplement with probiotics is if they're on antibiotics, steroids or meds and or are having problems...skin issues, vomiting, or problems with digestion. In that case I think they may be beneficial. They may even be beneficial if your dog is already healthy?? Maybe. I just don't see a need to supplement when my dogs appear, and in fact are healthy and happy.
In recent years there's been a big push...probiotics, doggy "Gatorade", doggy "power bars". Our dogs need this or that...I don't buy into it. Feed them quality food and keep them hydrated and I believe they will be healthy.

I agree with you. However I have had some trouble with skin irratations and allergies with my Wiem and Probiotics cleaned him up and saved me a ton in vet bills.

Hi Mike take a look at the best dry dog food available. FROMM. It costs more than the store bought stuff but it is much better. Human Grade, USDA plant. Meats are never frozen, cooked fresh when they get it, and best of all 100% American made and 4th generation family owned business out of Mequon, WI. I have 2 labs that compete in Dock dog competitions and I got lucky enough to have a good dog. He has been good enough that I was able to search for sponsors and I did a lot of homework on dog food. It is the best food available and there 4-star line would be a good choice for an allergic dog. Check out there website at Frommfamily.com they have adealer locator and if you need any more info feel free to email me directly Dave at twofishy4u@hotmail.com I know a lot about dog foods and it is actually scary how most companies operate.

I feed plain yogurt to my lab, she loves it and it's full of probiotics. She had a lot of issues with ear infections but since feeding her yogurt no more ear infections.
