I just spooled one of my baitcasting reels with this line. I took it out to a small lake by my house last night and threw spinnerbaits for awhile. I was really happy with the way it flies off my reel. It is round just like mono and coated with silicone. I think I have finally found a braid that is suited for my Pike rod. Only negative is that it costs 25 bucks a spool!

Anybody else tried this stuff?

Yes. It's great. Costly, but leave it on your reel longer than you would other lines. You'll see that the silicone coating will give you a line that lasts longer. IN the long run, you'll spend less.

I use it for walleye in the 10lb test and I use the big stuff for musky. I have 3 years on one musky spool and still very limited fraying.

havn't used the ripcordS/I , but have been using ripcord for a couple of sesons now. Not bad for the price.

Standard Ripcord SI - one spool fill on its fourth season now and still looks like new. One of the best braids on the market.

Neal.
I've been using Rip Cord since it first came out. I run river charters on the Tittabawassee River where snags abound. 90% of the time I'll pull the snag free, straighten out the jig hook or bend the hook tip before the line will break. And I'm using the 2/10 Ivory. This is the smoothest, best feel, best casting, non-twisting, non-memory, strongest line I've ever used. The only dowside is that it will start to weaken and fray near the jig head after a period of use/wear. And seem to break almost unexpectidly if not retied every now and then throughout the day or after a few snag-ups. Heres another tip. After the line starts to dull in color and show wear during the course of the year, reverse the spool. In other words, lay the line out and re-spool it used line first on the reel. In general only half the line on any spool, on any reel, ever gets wet. So you can now consider the cost 50% less given the fact you can use both ends. And always use a plomar knot when tying. Many others pull through because of the silicone coating.
