what is the best buy/quality on buying a baitcast reel/rod combo to catch those agressive northerns and muskies. any suggestions? thanx, sue

Simple question. Here's a simple answer. 7' St Croix Legend rod and a Shimanno Calcuta or Corsair.

Stay away from the Corsair, Mines been apart more than its been together. When it does work its not the best casting reel I've ever had, expecially with lighter baits. Look in Bass Pro Shops catalog, they have a Muskie combo from Pete Mania. $119 and your all set. Or another good combo it an Ugly Stick with a Garcia 6500
