I got the insulated Parka and non insulated bibs. The Insulated is pretty darn warm, but if it gets over in the 60's your gonna be hot, so I might have to buy a non insulated jacket for the warm spring and summer. I have been out in it in the thirtys and it held up fine for warmth.

Great stuff!

My opinion is that it is better do do your own layering and buy the non-insulated. I have the uninsulated Guidewear bibs and parka. I use them for a summer rainsuit, or for open water fishing in December in Upper Michigan. I kind of use the extreem mountain climbers philosophy for cold weather layering. No Cotton. Polypropoline underware, polyester fleece (like polartec 200 or 300) insulation, Gor Tex shell (Cabellas guideware). You won't get wet, you won't get cold, and if it gets too warm, just shed a layer.

I have a set of Cabelas Insulated (Thinsulate) Guidewear-the insulated jacket and insulated bibs. I wear it November through March fishing in an open 16 foot boat and at times traveling up to 30 mph. And, I stay warm. I think it could be too warm to wear spring and fall; it definitely would be too warm in the summer. Insulated guidewear is for the winter. I'd recommend the non-insulated and then as the previous posts suggested, layer accordingly.

Additionally, I'd recommend getting the jacket versus the parka if you will be wearing the bibs with it. The jacket is less restrictive as you change from sitting to standing to sitting positions. The bibs cover much of the upper body. Jack.

I would go with the un-insulated and layer your clothes underneath, this is my first year with the guidewear, and i love it.

I have the uninsulated Guidewear bibs and parka. I agree 100% with Mike2. Use layers for best results. I have seen guys that use one layer that by mid morning even on cool days are overheating and can do nothing about it. Wet from rain or wet from sweat, if you think about it neither is going to be comfortable.
