Well, I am really getting a case of cabin fever. I got out a couple weekends ago but since it has not worked out. Weather has been terrible to say the least. The days that have been nice, I have had prior commitments and have not been able to go. Now the 7 day forecast talks of 40-50 degrees temps for highs with lots of precip. Arghhh! Last weekend the water temps were 44 degrees on a very small and shallow lake and the temps have not been warm enough to improve those numbers. Minnesota opener is next weekend and I cannot go until Mothers day which has it's own issues. If I want to be a good guy, I will not be going next weekend either. The following weekend I also have commitments.
Is anyone else experiencing the same type of dilemna or am I alone? Ya know the old saying that "misery loves company." I need some company. Does anyone have any advice to help with my depression?
Look out June, looks like I will be fishing hard then! That may actually be a good thing since the bite will likely be slow on opener. I really am an optimist, times like these make it difficult.
Hawgeye, don't sweat that seven day forecast, chances are that it'll change somewhat before the third or fourth day. These weather boys like to make us think that they can see way into the future but usually they change it partway through. I think spring has come to us here in New York but it's been so crazy this year, who knows. I haven't gotten the boat out yet. The weather has been so bad here that we're way behind in our work around the yard and stuff. Gotta catch up a little before we can play. Better days are coming, pal, and I wish you a great season.

Hawgeye.... Same thing here, woke up this morning with 3-4 inches of snow on the ground! It looks like were gonna bypass spring & go straight to summer this year!
Take care,
Brad

Hawgeye,
Here's some company! Up here in Duluth we currently have a temp of about 40 and winds howling off Lake Superior giving us a "windchill" of about 25.
I did brave the elements yesterday am(only cause the wind layed down) and went out on superior trolling for salmon/trout. It was 22 degrees when I went out, and ran into surface ice early on. This is May and I gotta worry about ice forming at night??? Then we had periods of ice/sleet yesterday afternoon off and on, this is really getting old quick!!

I hope you minnesota and wisconsin fishermen don't get your hopes up for warm weather coming your way from montana. snow in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow including up to a foot of it in some parts of eastern montana. that doesn't sound like spring weather to me.

I'll hop on the wagon with you. I think my boss looks at the weather forcast before he does our schedule. Every day I've been scheduled off but one for the past 6 weeks has rained and or high winds. Did get out once when a cold front came in. Hopefully the weather will get better. Why doesn't it rain when I have to work?
See ya on the water.
