I'm comparing the Eagle 240 and 160. There is a $100 dollar price difference through Cabela's. They seem to be the same finder except for the screen resolution. True? Can anyone tell me if the 240 gives better fish/bottom separation on the screen? Thanks.

Target seperation with a 160 about 6-8 inches, with 240 about 1 inch.

Yes, pixels ARE that important. A walleye near the bottom will look like a lump/rock on the 160, and the 240 will show water under it.

propwash--pixels are everything. but...you need to determine how price/value works for you. you will usually still see fish just not as well seperated or detailed. how serious are you?

Pixels you can not see you cannot hear either. With enough of an understanding of the body of water you are fishing lower wattages with less description can be used easily, but if it were to be a peanut butter sandwich "it" has to have jelly! Grayline what a concept. The difference in detail between the 2 units mentioned as far as the display goes isn't that much and as far as bottom seperation maybe more but as far as I tell having operated both manually......
