We are heading up the week of June 2nd. We are starting in Spicer. I am staying in a Tent trailer with the Family. Dad and Mom are pulling the boat and staying in a Motel. We want to stay in this area for a few days and then go on. We are looking at Mille Lacs or the Brainard area. We like fishing for Walleyes and also Smallmouth Bass, Panfish and Pike. Anyone have any top picks? I would really like to find a resort that has lodging and camping. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If you are starting near spicer, I would hit Nest lake for smallies. A good consistent bite and plenty of size to them (4+) is not uncommon.
Keep releasing them walleye

I would check on Gleenwood on Lake Vermilion. They have camping & cabins both and just off of Big Bay with allot of reefs. I have my tent there for the whole season. Smallies you betcha all the time. For two years I have had the misfortune of hooking a Muskie on UL tackle.

It's hard to beat Green Lake in Spicer for walleyes and smallmouth. Only one in the area that does is Mille Lacs. Although I hear Vermillon is very good.
You becha, ya!!

I lived in Paynesville MN for 2 years. It is just down the road from Spicer. Good walleye lake is Koronis. If you want smallies, go to Minnewaska. Got a 18 incher by accident last year. What a fight!!!
good luck. Spicer is nicer...
