Has anyone ever bought or used marked maps from Captain Steve Kunnarth for Lake St. Clair? Maps are extremely expensive ($149.00) Any good? Worth the money?

I would never spend that kind of money. St. Clairs size intimidates many, especially inland guys that have never been on big water, but it is not that difficult to figure out. The lake changes it's 450+ square miles of water every 5-6 days, and the current plays a huge part in fish location from day to day. The current changes frequently as it gets blown around by the wind. The bottom is fairly featureless, particularly in the mid and northern lake, so even the slightest convolution or bottom density change can hold lots of fish. Any man made structure is a fish holder.
The St Clair Flats (the worlds largest freshwater estuary and not technically part of the lake but the St Clair River) is a world unto itself, and one could take weeks to just see all the water, much less fish it. An NOAA chart will show you all you need to know to start figuring out St Clair.

Steve isn't on St Clair nowadays. Moved to Montana I think.
Miles of good water on St Clair and subject to wind problems. [ weekend 3 foot rollers from cruisers too]
