Looking at possibly buying one of Scheels rainsuits made by Sterns for $95. I know they're not the quality of the Guide Wear, but they don't appear to be too bad. Has anyone had any experience with these suits? The price seems to be right, but not at the expense of an inferior product. Thanks

I just picked up a new stearns rainjammer pro suit and only used it once. It worked pretty well given the conditions at big stone last weekend. I do know they made that suit with the intention to compete with the guidewear, only on a lower price point. They use something that works like goretex, only a different brandname. I say give it a try.

I have a Stearns rain suit and it is OK in a light rain. I get wet in a heavy rain. I am looking for something else now - maybe Frogg Toggs.

Wet, wet, wet. If it doesn't have Gore-Tex protection, I'm not interested! Do it right the first time and spend the $$$!

I picked up one of the aforementioned suits. I let you know how it works. You can be sure that if it leaks or soaks through, it will be going back. I told the salesman this. How hard is it to keep dry for a reasonable price?

I have two sets of Stearns and need to wear them both to only get damp. I am in the process of getting my money back on both suits.

Thanks for the info I'm convinced, Guideware it is, no sense in being wet or taking the chance, although as much rain as we get anymore its seems a little strange to be worried about getting wet in this country. Snow today ,maybe we'll get lucky and we'll start seeing more moisture. Just need a little warm weather to go along with it.

Last year I bought a Sterns Walleye Hunter rain suit and it is the best investment I ever made. It has been in some horrible weather and some real down pours nary a leak. I dont know which Sterns you guys are talking about, but I can vouch for the walleye hunter.

I probably wasn't specific, it is the Walleye Hunter I was talking about needing info on, I'm sure Sterns probably makes different quality products, now you have me reconsidering my options. I may as well purchase a set from Scheels since they have been more that fair with me on other purchases when I had problems and needed exchanges. I too will return them if they don't work.
