Saw your posts on "Michigan Sportsman". Agree with you completely. I am new to this site and searched it fairly thouroghly for your posts on fish catching tips and techniques for Erie 'Eyes. Came up empty handed. I had no problem finding your complaint department but where is your help department? Don't take this wrong, I am not throwing darts. I am seriously looking for information as it has been two years since my wife and I have been able to get on Erie to fish. Just think it's fair to help as well as complain.

If you're as new to this site as you have said
then I hardly think you can pass judgement on who's a complainer and who's a helper. You're working off of first impressions, friend. Take
it from a regular, when it comes to being helpful
with the fishing advice, Swat 1 rates a ten.
Actually, we have a lot of people here who go out
of their way to be helpful. All you have to do is
ask your questions... nicely :-)

According to your own admissions, friend, you're
new to this site. I don't see how you can give
an opinion on who's a complainer???? You're working off of first impressions. Take it from
someone who's been hanging around here for a little while (namely me), Swat 1 rates a 10 when
it comes to giving out helpful fishing info and
we have lots of other eager to help folks hanging
around here. So go ahead and ask your questions..... nicely. :-)

No, I didn't get carried away... I couldn't get
the message to register. That's a first :-)

I tried to indicate I wasn't throwing darts. I was looking for where I might find his reports on how and where on Erie and couldn't find anything. I even used the search. I always presume the good in people until proven otherwise. I don't like jumping off bridges not knowing what is below them. I thought he might let me know where his posts were so I could review them. Thanks for the input.

Might make it a tad bit easier for Swat to help
you out if you left your email address :-)

yes we love the site, but it does have some bugs and the search is usually one of the more erratic working parts. So don't always beleive that its not there if it don't come up on search. (I searched for Slip bobbers once and it said ZERO post. - lol) Anyway the more I think about it that post was most likly a fake anyway. Ever try to do a 80 fish day? Figure in motoring and set up time and its nearly impossible.

Hi Lip Ripper:

Sorry I haven't posted much here recently but I have been extreemly busy runing at least one trip and sometimes 2 trips per day.

The bite this week has been off again on again and today is a blow day where all captains I know from this end of the lake canceled their trips.

What we have been doing to catch fish this week is casting Weapons and Weight Forward spinners. In the weapon the #3 Colorado or Indiana blade in Gold diamond cut have been working about the best for us. Some people were managing to get a few fish yesterday on a #3 green Colorado blade. It didn't work for me though. We have also been using Bottom Bouncers with some success. good things to try on them are Silver #3 Colorado blades with green tape, or the fire tiger patern. Took some on a gold hatchet blade too but I'm not sure what size that one is. I know it's the smaller of the two the bait shop here has.

I had a trip yesterday afternoon where we got to troll. I used 1/4 oz tots and wiggle warts both produced fish for me. Hot colors were purples and blue shaded lures. Another Trolling captain was using spoons off jet divers and he did ok too but we were in different areas and I don't know what colors he was running.

Hope this helps you some.

Sorry if it looked like I was complaining but unsportsman like conduct like MI Sportsmans comments are totaly un called for here. As far as helping out with reports etc all you need to do is ask and I'll be happy to tell you whats up.

I stoped posting here much for 2 reasons mainly and those are pretty straight forward.

1. There are all togather to many people who are trying to start crap on this the best Walleye site on the net. They do this by flaming others, and I just got sick of people here doing that.

2. While I like to think I can do a good job catching fish others may take what I have to say the wrong way. Rather than sound like a braggart or that I'm full of myself I would rather let the fish I hang on the board at the end of the day for my customers speak for themselves.

Like I said if you have a question please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer it or find someone who can if I don't know the answer. One of the posts here did say that it would make it easier if you left your e-mail and that is very true. To be honest with you E-mails get quicker responses from me due to time constraints. You can E-Mail me at Swat1@Walleyecentral.com

Thanks and good fishing

Dan

Yes sir, I have done a few 80+ fish days. However it hasn't been recently. Back when Michigan went to it's first 10 fish limit and prior is the time frame I was able to do it in. I had many days when the area between my index finger and thumb was raw and bleeding at the end of the day (gill plates). There was no need to learn many techniques as all you had to do was put back a bait behind the boat. Those days I believe are gone.
