A neighbor of mine has one of these for sale. Thinking about picking it up for a second locator. Do any of u have this locator around still on your boat, if so would greatly appreciate any feedback you could give me!!!

I think this is one of the old "Z" series. I have one on my houseboat, and it works, that's the best thing I can say about it. It shows the depth, what I need on the houseboat, but it doesn't really show much for structure and fish. Mine is the Z6000 model, but I think they are pretty much the same.

My 9500 has the '93 computer programs, I think. It has less resolution than a Lowrance LMS 350, more like a moderately-priced Lowrance. It uses Loran-C instead of gps, but other than that, anything the 350 does, the 9500 does also. Speed, temperature, Loran compatible, keel offset, shallow depth alarm, deep alarm, and more stuff I haven't used in the nine years I've owned it.

i got a z9500 eagle and thought it was a pretty good graph. it has a gps in it thats not as good as the lms 350 but will get the job done. my gps mod. went out and i just decited to go to the lms 350. they dont make it any more but they will give you some credit on a up-grade towards the 350 for it. hope this helps you and good fishing!!

I have the Z9000 which is the same locator without the GPS module. I think it is an excellent locator and have been using it for 10 years. It does not have the vertical pixel count as the better locators of today but it has a wide screen which is nice for running the 4X bottom zoom on the left side and the normal view on the right side of the screen. It has 3000 watts of power and the ability to shorten the pulse with of the signal which helps to detect fish which are close to the bottom. E-mail me if you have questions. I still have the manual so I should be able answer most of your questions. You didn't say what locator you have now but the Z9500 may become your primary locator.
