Time for a new sonar/depth finder, how about some ideas on what has worked well for y'all?
After fishing the PWT as an amatuer and my own tournament experience I would rate the graphs I've used as this:
Lowrance X-16ci: great unit, thought it was a little tough to see in the sun though. Not sure if all the money is worth it.
Lowrance X-15mt: great unit, is my choice unless I had a never ending bankroll than I would chose the X-16.
Pinpoint 7520: Marked fish really nice. Didn't like the smaller screen.
Bottomline Tournament: Unbolt it and call your insurance for the money back.
Hummingbird Legend 3000: Marks fish but tough to understand what it's telling you. I think it's a little blobby. Doesn't show nice hooks.
Ihave the X-15 and love it. Nice big screen with great resolution. MAKE SURE you get the straight 200KHZ ducer not the dual 50/200.

Ya, that sounds right, without the GPS. Should be about $950 with the GPS.

I have had the Pin Point 7520 and now have the Lowrance X-15. Both are very good units. I just started using the Lowrance so time will tell. The Pin Point was a good unit, but I had a hard time getting the transducer set just right. Also had some other minor problems with it that involved it going back to the factory. Their customer service was very good, but I think that might have changed here lately. I think either unit is very good.

I bought a LCX16ci this winter it is a super unit, it is hard to see in the sun, but I forgive it. I had a Humminbird Paramont it was great also, but I wanted to go back to LOWRANCE. I've been noticing some good deals on brand new Lowrance 15's and 16's on ebay. You might want to check this out.

Lowrance, and Eagle, all the way.I've had the old flasher, the paper graph, which I still use,and LCR type Eagle unit's.Like the Eagle, love the price.I was at the outdoor show in Pittsburgh, and asked the rep from Lowrance ,and he said the unit's are not made with cheaper chip's,diode's or switch's.They are basicly the same, and I've had some great experiences' with Lowrance.I had to send a unit in,as I broke the power connector on the back. I had a tourny coming in 2 week's,and they turned it around for me,and sent it with new paper,a stylis, and belt.I was only charged for the connector.By the way,I broke the plug by putting it on wrong, and forcing it on the unit.My next one will be a Lowrance,or Eagle. You get what you pay for.
