In the most recent issue of FLW Outdoors, when they interviews pro's about their favorite things to do, Byron Peterson mentions Fall walleye fishing on the Missour River north of Omaha. Can anyone tell me more about this? Recently moved to the Eastern end of the state from the Southwest corner of Nebraska - I haven't even fished once due to the lack of lakes in the Eastern half. Looking for some decent fishing of any type - especially Walleye. Doesn't have to be on the Missouri, can be western Iowa, etc. Any help is appreciated, but Petersons mention of good walleye / sauger fishing that close to me sure peaked my interest.

Thanks

I've heard that walleye can be found behind wing dams north of Blair, but with the river being really high and fast it could be a real challange, I'm from Bellevue and usually go to Lewis and Clark up in Yankton . Went up this morning and got rained out back home by 4. Fishing is pretty good this time of year, first real cold front in a month shut them down today only 1 short but only fished 2 hrs before the rain really came down.

He may of been talking about the river feeding Lewis and Clark reservoir. That is where I would try first. The river between Omaha and Sioux City is a dredged out canal and mostly a catfish/drum/carp fishery.
