Leeches

Could someone please tell me how to bait these devils so they live for more the ten seconds?

I just go directly through the center/bottom of it's mouth, or whatever you call that suction cup thingy of their's...lol
To high on the mouth, and they tear off easy on casts. Get to the bottom edge though, and they hang on pretty good. They wiggle a long time that way.

I agree with Juls, however, I believe that the suction cup thingy is just that - a suction cup thingy - the "mouth" is on the other end of the critter. Anyway, I hook it the same way as Juls described, through the bottom portion of the suction cup thingy. If we're slip bobbering and making long casts we double hook them - right through the bottom portion of the suction cup and then immediately back through - we find that this keeps them from wrapping around the hook shank/line and tying those knotted up messes that leeches are famous for.
