Stinger Hooks.....attach to minnow or let hang?

Just wondering what you guys think the best way to use stingers. I have noticed that when I attach the stinger the minnow doesnt swim right. Thanks for your opinion.

Let the minnow swim freely without hooking the stinger into it unless you're in a very very snaggy area then hook stinger on top tail fin area.

Thanks Sunshine, do you prefer 2 inch or 3 inch stingers? I will be using shiner minnows. Any other replies appreciated.

I like stingers that are the same size or slightly longer than the minnow that I am using. Personal choice.

I agree with sunshine. I like stingers that are just as long or a bit shorter than the minnow and I let the stinger hang free. Good luck!
