Don't expect anything! That way your trip will always exceed your expectations. LOL

I assume you're fishing either Big or Little Detroit. You'll know where to fish by the metropolis that develops just off the downtown public access. Most years there close to a hundred houses near the access. Grab some fatheads and make the best of it.

Which lake are you going to be renting a shack?

Looks like we are staying at the Lodge at Detroit Lake and they set up shacks on Detroit Lake. How big is the lake, types of fish ,bait to use? Thanks

I have never fished Big Detroit, but I work in Detroit Lakes and know the owner of the Lodge on Lake Detroit. I believe there is a nice breakline out in front of the lodge (I see boats out there all summer). Detroit is well known as a multi-species lake, especially walleye and muskies. I would guess there are a good supply of panfish as well.

Check the local bait store for their suggestions.

Good Luck, and say Hi to John and Scott for me.

I fish mainly walleyes on soft water from march to nov, my bro in law is coming from Calaforina with his boy they live in the high desert, hope the boy can get into some walleye last year we tried angustora in SD but all we could find were small perch.
