The X-85 is a nice unit but the X-15 is much better. The screen is bigger and it has the GPS in it. They seem to have the bugs worked out of it and you don't see people posting about problems with them as much. I would spend the money on it ...........

I have the x-15 depth finder only(I use the garmin 182 map). I love the detail on the X-15- it is by far the best I have ever owned. It is simple to set-up and use and I couldn't be happier. On the other hand I feel the same way about my Garmin 182 chart plotter w/bluechart. On Erie it even shows the boat dock profiles-its awsome!!! I think the bottom line is buy quality equipment and you can't go wrong.

Have had nothing but problems with my X15. Been told I need to get updated to the 2.2 version. Hope this helps my problems. When the unit does function, it has great clarity, when it does function....

I have three X15s so far, last years boat, this years boat. They are great units but you do need to keep the software updated. That is why the updates are there, to correct the bugs and enhance the product. They are the best graphs I have used, period.

Joe,

Can you give out some tips on the settings that you use on your X-15, just finished installation and have not yet begun to use it yet. Thanks in advance.
