Fishing in the NWAC/MWC tourney this weekend and I'm not able to get up to pre-fish (just 1/2 day Friday). I was wondering how the bite is? Where to start? What to do? I've never open water fished the lake and would appreciate any advise!

North shore sand. 16' to 25' deep with leech or golden shiner. 8' to 10' snells.

I agree with the north sand. Also, the east gravel. Main lake points are also holding fish. Fish have been coming on minnows, leeches and crawlers.
Remember, you need to be off the water Friday by 2pm

The water temp Sunday was 43-44 degrees - probably a tad cool yet for cranks out in the basin. I did here of some fish caught on cranks in less than 15 feet of water.

If the wind is blowing never forget fishing the rock. Whether trolling/casting cranks, slip bobbering or flipping jigs. The fish will be there if the the wind blows into it. The rock bite was good all Saturday with the wind and rain. The slot ratio was about 1:6 for most fisherman on this pattern.

A friend of mine had real good luck Friday during the day at Hunters point - 17feet of water, gravel and rock, bobber rig with jumbo leech. Also used 1/4 oz. jig head w/ leech. All about about 6in to 1 foot off the bottom. Limited out in about 1 hour with slot fish. There was about 4 people in his party, they also got their limit in about the same amount of time. Hope the bite is still on. Water temp was about 42 degrees then. Don't know what it is now. Good luck !!

Ahhh...Grasshopper...Snatch the jig from my hand, somebody get caught with there pants down around there ankles. Now place your fingers on the stump. Wack...U bad fisherman.x(
