Does anybody know how slow you can forward troll the new Ranger 620 Tillers, with the 200 hp four strokes?? Just curious.

Thanks,

Tanner,
First of all, welcome to Walleye Central. My brother in law speaks highly of you, and has enjoyed your services on the "Chip".

I can't specifically answer your trolling speed question, but I do know that the 200hp L-4 Verado/Big Tiller has the ability to drop down to 550rpm, using the Troll Control feature. Obviously, try to resist the temptation to prop for top-end, less prop pitch should give you a slower trolling speed.

Trolling speed depends on your prop pitch, wind, any current in the lake etc.. 2.4 to 2.9 mph would be the approximate range without a trolling bag out. Pushing a 19 pitch Tempest the 200 is a little fast. Even at 550 rpms.

It seems to me all modern large boats (16' plus) with max HP on the back CANNOT troll down to adequate walleye speeds (<2.0 MPH).

my 618T with a 90 Suzuki will forward troll about 2.2 with no wind, but give me a wind it will be 1.8 or in reverse it will practically stand still, have a high 5 SS
