How full do you get the Daiwa line counter reels when putting line on them? Right to the top? I have 1300 feet on the spool so far (from the line counter, which is not accurate).

Thanks.

I put about 600 feet of 10 lb backing on mine first. Then I can get about 700 feet of 10 lb xt on. I fill mine all the way to the top of the spool. That is were I have found the counter to be most accurite!

i use the older 47H daiwas which hold a lot of line for lake michigan salmon...i use the bass pro excell line and it has held up very well over the yrs...generally change lines every other yr...almost never breaks and very low cost..steve

Yes, your spool should be FULL. I like to walk off a known distance in my yard to check the accuracy for when I think it's close to getting full. Reset the counter and walk with the spool, pulling out line as you go off the reel. If the counter reads high you need more line on the spool. I try to overfill it a little so that as I lose some line it stays closer to accurate for a longer time.
