 Hello Force Recon, Rangers, Seals etc. we'd like you to take care of all of those %$*&%&%^ for good. As to the 13 they captured, well I have my own ideas and that doesn't involve any courts; just the cost of the ammo.

I know some of you won't agree with my sentiments but I firmly believe that type of retribution is the only kind they'd understand.

That style of Action is long overdue!!!

The First Barbary War was in (1801–1805) in the Med -- Now it's past due in '2011 to stop the lousy pirate's many dirty-rotten deeds ASAP!!!

Why would we risk the lives of those involved in capturing the current prisoners just so we can feed them and give them health care on the taxpayers dime?

I agree the only punishment that will get the attention of their pirate buddies is to bury them at sea in many small pieces.

in the good old days of the sailing ships, pirates were hung in the city square.

with the force and power of the United States and the technology available to them, it shouldn't be too hard to nip these types of assaults in the bud, after all isnt this is why stealth missles were made?

these guys are operating miles from shore from larger vessels, certanly satellite surveillance can pinpoint those "attack launch vessels" and take them out with a drone or similar method.

Hang these 13 guys on the internet and let it be known all who are captured will suffer the same fate.

Their ships would make nice targets for the Air Force to practice on.

It is a terrible tragedy that we had to lose 4 outstanding citizens's of this country to those barstards. I too, would like to see all of them annihilated. If we had cooperation from other nations, and could live with a little collateral damage, it shouldn't be too hard. Put an AWAC up in the air and have half dozen fighter jets patrolling.

All that being said though, as long as the shipping company's insurance keeps paying claims and we keep caving into their ransom demands, it will continue unabated. Think about it, they STILL hold 30 ships and 660 hostages.

If I was a world sailor, no way would I even venture close to that area.

It is beyond fraustrating that every penny I pay into for taxes over my entire career won't even come close to covering the millions for their trials, defense lawyers, and appeals. Hard to stomach all the money that is taken from my paychecks over 40 years of work is being spent on this.

How about not sailing your ship over there. Stay in US waters while the USA is at war. At the very least, you better go armed to the teeth and not rely on the Navy saving your ***!!

Dont sail where you arent wanted. You wouldnt walk across Iran would ya? Pirates are the economy, these unsafe areas the local govt is the problem. In their homelands, pirates are heroes.

So level the "homelands" too.

Very frustrating to think the US had all that fire power just monitoring the situation. DUH!!! Did we really think it would end peacefully???? Come on guys, just fire a missile and be done with it. They say they heard small arms fire shortly after the miss with the RPG....for the love of God, what did our guys on the war ships really think was happening? Sink the SOB's already and keep sinkin' em. We know where more are too, that's just as agrivating.

They knowingly and intentionally put themselves in harms way. They got harmed. I am glad none of our servicemen got harmed trying to save them.

So you are saying just let the US Navy kill the Americans? Yea, great plan. Very thoughtful. Are you running for office? I want to vote for you.

Hello: A sad terrible tragedy. But why would any one with any common sense want to go there for pleasure with that countries situation ? Would you go to the middle east or Mexico ? I sure wouldn't . Would you ? I still think they should destroy those pirates but it should be with U. N forces not just the good ol U. S. Just my opinion. O - R

The facets include:
1) Sailing in contested waters (What?? Are you stupid????)
2) US Navy's invlovement (Mediation? - seriously, with pirates)
3) Anarchy in the area (anyone running the show?)

I believe that:
A) Anyone sailing in the area is accountable for their own fate
B) If an American vessel is seized, immediate activity to recapture is paramount
C) No ransom is given
D) Any captured pirate should say their prayers in the next 15 minutes!!!!

If the people killed were Israeli's I wonder what the response would have been since Israel doesn't put up with any crap or world opinion.

I'd say the ones that were caught should be trolled for sharks behind a frigate 3 miles off their coast and let the rest see what happens to pirates when caught by the US Navy.:bangin:

I guess this is what happens when you try to negotiate with a bunch of lunatics instead of rescuing the US citizens.

These people were sailing around the world, stopping at ports and handing out Bibles. Far cry from laying low. Its Like a couple of Arabs driving around Kansas handing out copies of the Koran wearing a head rag! Wouldn't last too long.

The 40th President of the United States of America wouldn't tie anyone's hands if this had happened under his watch.

I was surprised that they did not send Jesse Jackson over to negotiate with these lunatics.

First my thoughts and condolences to the families.
Second, this is what happens when you believe all people are equal under the law regardless of the crime.
Third, would you let your 4 year old write with crayons in the the kitchen walls with out punishment? Would you expect he would stop with the kitchen or move towards the living room if not punished?

I'm sure the bodies were still warm when we pulled the next boat of humanitarian aid up to the docks or they cashed our foreign aid check.
