I'm planning a little camping trip this Memorial weekend with the wife and kids to the Geneva area and was hoping to ask you guys for a little advise. Now, most of my fishing is concentrated only on walleye, but its the wrong time of year for that out of Geneva. However, with your help, I would like to maybe find some smallies to get into or just anything to keep the boys interested and build their love for the sport. Can anyone, maybe give some locations or ideas of how I could stir up some bites for the wife and kids so I can stay on the water a little longer? I would appreciate any response to this post, and would like to thank everyone in advance.
Thanks,

I'll probably be out there doing the same thing. The smallmouth bite is on there. I recommend drifting shiners or crayfish in the 10-25ft depth range. Tube jigs work well also. I foung last week that tipping the tube with a small minnow seemed to help but could have been cooincidence. I like the waters between Saybrook and Geneva township park. I got a couple of 4lbs fish there last week. If you want any mor info you can e-mail me at ginamaria14@hotmail.com

Ginamaria,
Thanks for the info, I sent you an email asking for a few more details, hope you don't mind. I think the boys would like to do a little drifting, that way they can hold their own pole. Thanks for the response and maybe we'll see you on the water.
Thanks,
