Was just at Wholey's in Pittsburgh over the weekend. They had "Yellow pike" ON SALE, for $5.99 lb. The guy behind the counter said they were indeed walleye when I asked and he said they were from Erie. The fish I was going to purchase were whole, uncleaned fish. When I asked how much for two of them he weighed them and replied $29.95. I told him to keep them. I wonder what just the filets would go for? Do you think the gold color in the walleye has anything to do with it???

Well look at it this way, most people have spent between $5000-$50,000 on fishing equipment. $30 for some Walleye, CHEAP..

The price sounds about right. Our eyes are sometimes refered to as Golden Eyes depending where your from. Especially the eyes that come from the deeper waters are really Gold colored. Heck I've spent more than that and got no fish.:)

$ 30 is real cheap. I was in Ontario last week for their opener. Tough week with rain, snow, and 45mph winds. Two evenings we couldn't even go after the Golden Eyes. But we found a joint with some "Blue Eyes".....$30 is real cheap !
