I had just renewed my boat insurance when I thought I would give Bob Luellen of Worldwide Marine a call to validate that my coverage and cost were appropriate. As it turned out, I had stated value coverage on the boat and everything attached, which is definitely the right way to go. My coverage on fishing equipment was lower than it should have been. I had Bob check similar coverage on my boat with the multiple companies that he represents and send me a quote.
In the end I cancelled my current policy and went with Bob. His response was fast; his knowledge of the fishing equipment and recommended coverage was extensive; and my new policy is $50 cheaper per year, coverage is equal to or exceeds my previous policy and now I have decreasing deductible insurance, where every claim-free year reduces the deductible by 25%.
He is an avid angler and has the interest of the fisherman at heart. It is a pleasure to talk to him. We had some interesting fishing-related conversations that had nothing to do with the insurance deal that we had just closed. He is not at all pushy and just wants to make sure you understand what you are paying for when you buy boat insurance.
