i am looking to start using offshore planer boards more and would appreciate any feedback on which rods to purchase.i live very close to the berkly outlet store and would prefer berkley rods as i could cut the cost considerably.style ,length,action of rods is what i need help with.if it matters i will be trolling cranks.THANKS

I've got a couple of 6' Med. action Lightning Rods that I use. I wish they were 7'ers. They work great and the price will be right.

Berkley makes a lightning rod endorsed by Gary Roach that is built for pulling planner boards. (telescoping handle) I'd suggest 8' long and get them all alike. It will make learning much eassier.
