Twin Cities river fishing

For all the fishing I've done in lakes across MN and WI, and even Canada, I've really never been river fishing. I know that lots of guys go at this time of the year on the Mississippi, but I've never been. Before I venture out on my own, I'd like to join someone for a day on the water.

Anyone willing to share a little knowledge with a newbie to river fishing?

Anyone heading out this Friday or Saturday with an open seat?

I'll happily provide gas money, food/beer . . .

I'd suggest waiting till the river drops down a bit before going, also filling in the "Location" part with at least a city so we know where you live might help getting a seat maybe.

Good idea, Al. I live in Woodbury, and so I'm thinking Red Wing as a likely spot, but I'm open to suggestions.
