Do any of you guys use P-line? If so, for spinning or casting (i.e. revolving spool) reels? Do you like it? I want to fill a few reels with some line and was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with this line.
Thanks,
Pete

After using trilene XL and trilene tournament strength for many years, I felt the quality was slipping away from trilene so I tried about 6 different lines this year including p-line. So far I have been most impressed with the p-line. I have already put it on a couple more reels. I have only had it on for a couple of months now but I like it very much.
I use it on spinning reels for rigging, spinning, and slip bobber fishing.

I've used it for 2 years now for both spinning and casting. Love it. I also keep good 'ol fireline on my spare spools and switch out when I feel the need. Good Mono IMHO.....

I've had a similar experience with lines lately, so I decided to try about everything I could get my hands on. I'd have to say I'm extremely satisfied with P-line. Virtually no memory, very smooth casting and seems to be very strong. It's also not outrageously priced. The worst line I've tried is Y0ZURI. I should have spooled my reel with 18 gauge wire, it would have handled better and I would have saved about 15 bucks!

I have a buddy that guides on the Kenai R. for Kings in Alaska. When I took him out walleye fishing on the Columbia he told me about P-line and how it was the toughest line he'd ever used, I'd always been partial to Trilene. He sent me a couple spools of 6lb fluorocarbon P-line and I've used it on walleye and smallies since the middle of April . It is the smoothest fluoro line I've used so far with spinning reels. My dad , 11 year old son and I caught over 130 smallies last weekend with only one breakoff and no loops that turn into messes on the next cast. We were tossing light jigs the whole time which usually results in a mess or two, however the P-line preformed very well. My friend also sent a couple spools of the green abasion resistant line in that he that he uses for salmon. He said this line works best with level wind reels. I haven't used it yet but plan to see if it works well with bottom bouncers or cranks.

Hello,
Outstanding line all I use. 6 lb. xxx xtra stong is my favorite I even troll cranks will this line. Their flouroclear is great also. All their line coils some after first spooling your reels but staightens out quick and no problem after that. Try soaking in warm water before spooling to help prevent this. STRONG,LIMBER,LOW STRETCH, SMALL DIAMETER. What more can you ask for. (TIE POLYMER KNOTS WHEN POSSIBLE). Highly recommended best line I ever tried.

I try to stay far away from the lines when I have to P. LOL

p-line is good but is bigger than it says on the package and it is stiff, low strech and not good at close range.

I fished Pline C-xxx during a trip earlier this year in very snaggy water, fishing mostly jigs. It was O.K. forthe most part, but after having snagged and broken off dozens of times, I can tell you that the knot strength is clearly inferior to a line such as Stren Easy Cast.
I always tie palomar knots. The Cxxx broke off much easier. With the Easy Cast, I usually straightened out the hook, or I had to really try to break the line.

I purchased some P-line flourocarbon in 14 lb for tying some spinner rigs I think this is where I heard it is good for that.
I have never used it on a reel.

I'm absolutely sold on P-line. Very little memory and very strong and abrasion resistent. I've had no problems with it at all. Definitely use a polymer knot tho and try to wet the line when tying as it will increase knot strength. Try it and I think you'll like it.

Just came home from fishing for a few days. I make my own leaders -- 6' long from mono for live bait rigs. Bought a new spool of Stren 10# test. Fishing walleye -- I broke 10 or 12 leaders in two days. I spool with a superline so I had the drag very light and eased off on my hookset. Pole has a fast tip with medium action blank. I used a palomer knot at both ends. Can't believe the number of break offs.
I have tested the line by cutting a 3 to 4 foot length, tying an overhand knot in the line and trying to break the line by pulling on both ends. I usually can't break the line, however, about 25% of the time, the line will break at the knot. Anybody else having these problems? Brother-in-law went fishing this weekend at MilleLacs and had the same problem with a different mono. One of the baitshop owners said it's happening a lot -- especially if you spool with a superline -- because of the lack of stretch.
I didn't have these kind of problems the last three years -- even with superlines on the spools. Haven't tried P-line yet -- any suggestions?

I have been using it for two years. Not one rip-off or loss due to the line. I have used the CX Premium and wii try the new fluoro line next year. I am soo confident in this line to withstand the elements and conditions of Erie and Ontario, I am going to run the same line for the third year. This line has induced my strikes and is just the best I have ever used. I originally purchased this after lengthy conservations with Berkley and analysis of P-Line. THis is a medium stretch line of 12-17% vs mono of 25% and fluorocarbon of 7%. I want a little give for trolling.

P line comes in 2 types, CX Premium and CXX Xtra Strong. I have been told that the premium was better. Can anyone clarify which version you are referring to.
thanks
