View Full Version : WWA Releases Updated Schedule
3/6/2000 -- The World Walleye Association (WWA) announced today that it has revised the Team Challenge tournament circuit schedule for the 2000 season. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources sent a certified letter to both organizations, on February 28, 2000, stating that the issue of tournament permits must be worked out between the two organizations involved. It was also stated that the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources would not get in the middle of the dispute and it was up to the two organizations to work out an amicable solution on their own. Due to several failed attempts to discuss the issue, the WWA has decided to proactively end the dispute by releasing their updated schedule. The updated schedule for the 2000 Team Challenge tournament circuit is posted on the WWA website at www.worldwalleye.com.

It was quite clear in the letter from the Minnesota DNR that the permits were for USFA Team Walleye events with Mike Holt being the agent for the tournaments. They did say that USFA and Mr. Holt would have to work out the details. The World Walleye Association was never mentioned on the permits. As we replied to you, it was USFA's full intent to conduct the Team Walleye tournaments on the dates advertised and if Mr. Holt want to be there that was his decision. But, oh, thank you for realizing that and scheduling YOUR OWN tournament dates. Good luck, John Brett.

Seams to me you should change a few more tournament dates.
I for one would be interested in fishing both circuits but if you make me choose I'll go USFA,
I think they have been a little more straight forward about this deal.

you must not have read the post that closely, WWA did change their dates for Min.
I wish people would just back off of this WWA vs USFA thing. Just fish wich ever tournament you feel like, I have no gripes with either circuit.

I see that the Mille Lacs dates still conflict with USFA (June 3,4). Are they going to change?

Apparently, Mille Lacs allows multiple tournaments on the water, so they have decided to stay on Mille Lacs. It is really too bad they continue to do this.
Team Walleye will be held out of Mac's Twin Bay as advertised. They have asked us to remain. I have no idea where WWA will go out of, they have not announce it.
I really hope they change their dates and do not keep hurting the anglers and fishing community. John Brett.

Mr. Brett sounds like more of sphincter on here, than he did after the first day fiasco at the championship on Lake of the Woods. Get a grip!
