I just was on the berkley website and see that they have a new line coming out soon. Has anybody had a chance to see or use this new NanofFil line? Looks like a great line for light jig'n. I'm curious how it acts in water...sinks or floats, since its supposively not a mono but not a superline.

That looks like very intersting line. I wonder when it will be for sale, I couldn't find it on Cabelas. The "NanoFil Knot" looks a lot like a palomar knot to me. I hope that it goes on sale in the next month so I can get 150 yds to to try out. I use braid on all of my reels now but it looks like this might be the best of the mono, floro, and braid.

Had it in my hands today at the Berkley trailer.

Knot strength is as stated on the box. 12lb means it actually breaks at 12lb. 10lb fireline breaks around 30lbs.

It is super thin stuff. It is very slick.

It is not super abraision resistant.

It is very limp with little to no memory.

I can see it being a good jigging line when you are not in a snaggy area.
Icefishing for panfish would be good. It would get those small jigs down quick.

I spoke with some guys who used it on the ice last winter and really bragged it up.

They said it spooled very well and the strength was very good. Being these tests were on the ice, this caught my eye and upped my interest. I figure if it behaves well in -20 it will do very well on open water.

I have yet to spool it up but do plan to once I wrangle some up to spool.

I see it only comes in one color. For jigging a bright color would be nice for us with older eyes.

I fished with Nanofil last fall on the Missouri river. The line is really thin (6lb. Nano/1lb. mono diameter) and casts like a dream. It's a nice handling line that will definitely have some walleye fishing applications.

I'm not sure if it sinks or floats, I didn't lay a piece on the water to see. If I had to guess, I'd say it would float. But again I did NOT test it.
