I am running some new Diawa Sealine 27 LCX's this year. I have noticed that when you flip the bail and set the clicker that it seems it is set to tight and the line goes out really slow. I backed the thumb screw out all the way and this does not really help anything. Is there a solution to get the spool to feed out faster or smoothly? I previously had Okuma MD20's and they spooled out great.

Thnaks in advance.

I don't have sealines, but mine do the same thing. I think it's normal...I turn the clicker off, let the line run out, close the bail, then flip the clicker on.

Sometimes they need a bit of water resistance to play them out. Mine have always been that way and often I play out a bit of line open spool to get them going. With boards not so much, but usually so with long lining.
Take care,

I set my boat speed higher to let out the lines. After all lines are out, I adjust my speed to what I want to troll at.

The stiff clicker is the downfall of these reels, especially when pulling harnesses.

They take too long to get out, and the inside boards don't clear fast enough. The clearing problem is the bigger issue to me. I stopped using them on my inside and middle boards and use my other reels instead, which clear much faster.

They are a great reel except for the stiff clicker.
