Will be fishing walleye in the northwest angle and will be jigging and dragging spinners for walleye. What is the best kind, brand, lb test for this presentation?

Hello,
I like P-line xxx-xtra stong in 6 lb. test.
Been the best for me.
If I am finesse fishing - with really light jigs, I use 4 lb test.
If I am running 1/4 oz jigs and am looking at 2-3 lb fish I will be using 6 lb relatively limp line.
If I am working a bunch of the rocy areas - I will use something like trilene XT - for its abrasion resistance - in either 6 or 8 lb test.
If I am running a spinner - I will typically be using 8 lb xt or possibly 10 lb xt - if there are lots of northerns around.
take care

Green fireline 6 to 8 lb test and a light action rod. The no stretch quality in this line will allow you to feel every pebble on the bottom. The light action rods will help to keep the fish from feeling you. The color will allow you to see any movement in the line. If the line twitches set the hook. Color will also help when trying to keep the line vertical while drift fishing rivers. The Attach a 4 ft mono or fluorocarbon leader to the end of the fireline and attach your tackle to the mono/fluoro. If verticle jigging in shallow water you may want to stick with mono.

I use 8lb Fireline with a Vanish leader for jigging..the 2 lines are bonded using a UNIKNOT.....I have yet to find a better line combination than that.
Trolling and bottom presentations.....I love XT...10lb.
I like the 10 or 20 pound power pro, in the yellow color. it is very abrasion resistant, very sensitive, easy to see, and very small in diameter. 10 lb is 2 pound diameter, and 20 lb is 6 lb diameter. good luck and good fishin.

For jiggin I like to use 6lb XT solar because of the visibility. I don't usually use fireline becuase it is too direct and sometimes I think you set too early and miss fish because they feel you. Just my opinion. Good luck!

P-Line CXX-Xtra Strong in the Moss Green color has the best strength and abrasion resistance. All of the BASS guys are fishing it because it is so durable. The line breaks at almost twice the listed pound strength. 6lb. will break at 12lbs. of pressure. There is really no comparison.
