I like the size 10 shad Rap idea! The 6500 linecounter would be sweet also.

Color segmented mono line.

And I agree, a 6500 line counter would be sweet.

You probably already know this, but they make #4 jointed shad raps.

Ahh, the colored line...I ran a post a while ago about that. It was nice while they made it!!! I think it made by Mason. They make lots of off the wall handy stuff.

Howdy Texeye,

There are already variable pitch props on the market. Torque Shift comes to mind. I think it is the one in BWB every month, they have a huge ad.

Have fun...........R

I saw a prop that caught my eye. It was on a small one man self-propelled submarine. A small computer chip measured the relative speed of the craft and increased the pitch accordingly. It was like having gears on the sub! The faster it went the more pitch and when it stopped the pitch decreased for an easier hole shot. They said it was about 5 years from being available to regular folks like us. ( Of course I have no idea how old the show was that I was watching.)

How about an outboard with two gears...trolling gear and "off to the races" gear!

oh yeah, I almost forgot, Rapala getting bought out by a company that cares what fisherman like! GO REEFRUNNERS!

For the record,
I'm assuming that you will see a digital line counter add-on for your 6500's for the next fishing season. I fished with a good friend and Pro that had a prototype while prefishing the RCL on Bago. It had the ability to calibrate the type of line (super or mono), pound test, and amount of line on the reel. It sounds like it will be a 30 to 40 dollar cost. I liked the fact that it turned itself off when not being used and automatically turned back on when you started reeling again. I was a little disappointed in the clicker. It did not work as well as it usually does without the add-on.

Ahhh where do I start ?

1- T.M. batts that don't weigh a ton, last for days, recharge
in an hour and are as big as a lawn mower batt.

2- A supercharged 4 stroke motor, half the displacement same HP and
torque. As light as a two stoke.

3- 2 speed gearcase. Why this is not already made is friggin amazing

4- 2 stroke motor with variable exhaust port timing.Same as above

5- Telescoping T.M. shaft 36"-60" , cable quick PWR Drive steering
that is wireless.

6- Shallow water radar/sonar - no more lower units torn off.

7- Variable hullshape - too much dreaming !!

Something that REALLY HONESTLY keeps the crud buildup off aluminium boats for a whole season. ( Aluminum anti-foul paints illegal here, but fibreglass anti-foul paint not illegal....sigh)

amen to the 2 speed gear case... would that be cool or what for trolling, especially with the big 4 strokes.......

Just to let you know --- there are adjustable pitch props available.
They are expensive though. I used one about ten years ago.

Bigfish,
I had my Alluminum boat bottom painted by a dealer last winter. Now some of it is coming off. I did not know there were different paints for aluminum and fiberglass. I wonder if they used the wrong kind of paint? ??
