My family and I are going up to Snowbank Lake near Ely,MN for a week in July. I have never been there and would appreciate any info, tips, etc.on how to catch Walleyes that you would be willing to share. Thanks!

John,
I have only fished snowbank for lake trout, but there is a decent population of eye's in there also. Snowbank is clear and deep. Half of it is in the BWCA and the other half only 25hp motor or less. The best info will come from Smity's resort (218-3656-6032) they are the only resort on the lake. They have lake maps right there and I'm sure woudla mark a few spots even if your not staying there (they have for me for winter lakers) There are also smallies in the lake.
You may also want to try and do some jigging for lakers also. A few 1/2 to 1 oz northland bucktail jigs and minnow is about all you'd need. They will be deep, as will the walleye's also. No matter what, this is a beautiful area!! You can also check out the ely website, ely.org for more info on the area.
Xplorer,
Thanks for the info!!
