The black rubber "rub rail" on the top edge of my boat is pretty scuffed up. Any advice on cleaning the white (from pier bumpers) and other scuffs off? Thanx!
Have you tried Goof Off. It wil remove just about anything. Steel wool may also work. Have not tried either but just ideas.

You might want to go one step better and just replace it. I was amazed at how easy it was to do, and enough rub rail for my entire 1800 was only around 25 bucks.

Try some Acetone dipped onto a rag or scrub pad. It will take that stuff right off and it will look like new. After you get the spots off the rubber, go over the whole thing with Armorall. This will bring back the shine.

Try a product called Ru-glide, it is used in tire shops for mounting tires and cleaning them.It helps prevent weather checking in side walls and very handy stuff to have on hand for threading wires into hard to reach areas as well. A WD-40 of the rubber world you might say?
I have used it in the past and it add's life to things like wiper blades and the like as well. When you see tires in a auto show that look like they are new on a 30 year old car it is most likely this treatment that adds life and weather resistance.
It will last a long time and if I remember right it is about $16.00 a gallon.
Hope this is of some help!
