Anyone using a Digger anchor? How do you like it? They have 3 sizes for different sized boats too. Do the size ranges accurately reflect the boat size specs?

I got a Digger anchor this year, and so far have been very satisfied with it. I use it on my jonboat that I use for river fishing. It takes a good anchor to hold the boat well in the current and the Digger anchor hasn't failed yet. I like the fact that it is easy to pull in because of it is fairly light weight and also has a release mechanism if it gets hung up. I also like not having to use a chain on this anchor. I have used other anchors in the past but I would say that the Digger anchor is my first choice of all the anchors I have tried. Bruce

Get the largest one then you won't be disappointed.

They work great have held my 17 1/2 fiberglass lund in very windy conditions when other boats have tried to get a set and just blow away. I too have the largest size went for over kill and very glad of it.

I have one, I really like it. I bought the 12 inch for my 20 ft lund and have no complaints at all. It releases in real heavy weeks when you jerk it hard, but I have never had it release when it shouldn't.

I've had a 12# Digger anchorfor several years and wouldn't use any other. My boats' a 16'Crestliner Explorer and do believe for sure that the anchor will perform as advertised for the boat size as stated.
Get this - In the wind on Dixon Lake a few years ago, I couldn't hold my boat on a drop off. I had two 15# navy anchors down; one on the bottom and the rope leading to the next one on the bottom and then that rope up to my bow. I still was pushed off. I had my new digger but hadn't tie a rope to it yet so this was the time. That baby went down dug in and I stayed in place over the eyes I was lookin for.

I have 2 of the large ones, one broke, they fixed it and send me another 1 also, I am disappointed with mine, they do release fine but they do not do the trick in my book, so anyway if your ever near Walker Mn I have 2 I would just as well dispose of way cheaper then new

Mine always grabs and releases. Holds my 17'er without a problem on the Miss river. Worth the bucks. John

Ditto John, mine always hold too. :)
But Dave from Walker, I believe you should give Digger the rope it wants . . . instructions call for a 5 to 1 rope length to depth ratio. If you are holding in 20ft of water, you should theoretically be paying out 100ft of anchor rope. It will hold there; even if the bottom is glass marbles cuz it will dig into what ever can.
Don't sell those Diggers too cheaper, some guy will get a heck of a deal!
