What pound test does everyone use on your planor board rods? I would like to stick with mono. Braided is not forgiving enough for me.
Thanks for your suggestions

10lb Trilene Big Game... just as good as XT
for this application and much cheaper. Get
about 1200yds for what you pay for 350yds of XT.
Good Luck

To Old Coot; (I just had to type that in)Ditto the 10# XT. However, I am experimenting with different snell configurations for harnesses w/o BB's. Great Lakes waters are becoming incredibly clear. Good Luck. Walleye Mike

i use 17lb clear blue stren you cant beat it it stretches like a gum band even the customers that have no clue on what they are doin they cant break it i hope this helps good fishing Captain Dan Kelly
10lb Excaliber I find that this line is more abrasion resistant than most. Especially in the great lakes with the zebra mussels!!

20# Whiplash: strong, good abrasion resistance, thin for maximum depth on cranks.

Use 10lb fireline with a mono leader, you will get better depth control and the mono will act as a shock obsorber. I use 8-10lb trilene XL

I use 10 lb. Cabelas Pro Line.
It seems to hold up well and the best thing is that it is cheap enough you can respool often.
