How many of us have came to close to another boat that was trolling and wanted to apologize and couldnt. Personally I have come closer to another boat than I would like them to have come to me if I were trolling but honestly could'nt tell what they were doing because of either being distracetd by wife/child/downrigger or sun glare. I would really like to say sorry if I were able.

So why COULDN'T you say "Sorry, I got distracted and didn't realize we were so close to you..." or whatever the reason was? Better they know you made an honest mistake than think that you are simply another rude guy in a boat.
