Will be flying out of Red Lake On. 3rd week of Sept. to a lake with basins to 110'. Never fished lake trout before. Could use some help on lure selection and what depth the trout will be at that time of year. Thanx in advance.

Use a Fish Hawk temp probe and look for the depth you find 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Then fish large jigging spoons at that depth and below. Vertical jigging works well, and the airplane jigs also work. Trolling is always a great presentation, but you'll need special equipment if you need to get to 50 ft and deeper. Lake trout love big spoons. As a matter of fact, I've seen hog lakers taken on herring dodgers to which treble hooks have been attached. Good luck.
White Power Tubes!!! Don't laugh, I'm totally serious! Winter or summer.

I have always been succesful on Canadian waters with Luhr Jenson's Dave Davis hammered gold "cowbell" rig with 2 4" willow blades and 2 2 " willows. We thread a treble hook snell up the anus and our the mouth of a 3"-6" fat head and attach it to the end of the cowbell rig. In-line keel weights work best. Add to desired depth. We try to get our rigs within 5 feet of the bottom with either weights, Dipsy Divers or downriggers, depending on the depth, boat speed and weather.
Look out when they hit, there is no turning back and it is the ride of a lifetime! WooHoo!
