plot trail on GPS

My GPS trail on my screen does not stay there, when i'm traveling down the lake. It will evaporate off the screen about a mile back.I go some place and when I return it is gone. How can i follow my trail back if it is not there.Is there somthing I have to set back up or what. Need some HELP.

Pa,
There is a setting for how frequent the dots on plotter trail are shown. You can adjust this in the setup values, decrease the frequency to gain more miles seen on your plotter. There is a limited amount of memory in each GPS and if you run with this value set to a high frequency it fills this memory faster. Good luck.
