Mapping Software

I currently have a Garmin 162 GPS with Fishing Hotspots software. Unfortunatly it does not have some of the key lakes I fish in Northern Wisconsin. I see that the Lakemaps software does have these lakes and am wondering if I can access both programs realizing I could not mix FHS lakes or Lakemaps lakes on the GPS at any one time.

Has anyone tried this?

Also does the Lakemaps show up the same as FHS on the GPS sreen?

First of all check to see that you have the latest version of the FHS CD from Garmin. I know that they added a bunch of new lakes and you may be able to upgrade if you have the old one. As far as the mixing of FHS and other mapping CDs, no you cant make the other maps appear on your GPS, the only thing that you can do is mark waypoints on the computer and then transfer any of them to your GARMIN unit and viseversa.

I have a good friend with the same above mentioned Garmin unit. Funny thing is, we were talking about the same thing on the water today. I will be watching this thread to see what transpires....
