OK. Here's a new one. I bought a few fishing rods from a guy in Canada--great everything as represented. Now I get a bill from some outfit for $19.00 representing a "US Customs Entry Fee"?
Anyone ever heard of such a thing before?

I have a idea of where this comes from. Did your rods cost $190? If they did, then the parts may not be labled "Made in Canada" and that is the 10% duty on the parts not marked with the country of orgin. This is just a guess with my little knowledge of Customs.

I have heard of people having to pay duty on Canadian goods when returning to the US. The customs people usually ask if you have anything to declare. I have never brought back much so I don't know how they handle it. I have also heard that it depends on how long that you were in Canada. If it is a serious deal they evidently know where to find you.;) Let us know how it turns out.

Contacted the UPS representative in Pembina and indeed I owe the money. I did NOT have to pay duty, this is the fee for having something imported into the US by a common carrier. Had I of picked them up or had them personally delivered--no cost. Learning is such a wonderful experience!!!!!!!!
