View Full Version : LMS 240 & X91 - Helpful hints and suggestions
I am installing an LMS 240 this week.
Any helpful hint or suggestions regarding the GPS or Sonar is appreciated. What has helped you maximize the benefits of your LMS 240 or X91 sonar.
Also, I'm considering putting a X51 on the bow. Is there any concerns with this unit or the two of them on the same boat? Any recommendations.
Thanks in advance.

The LMS 240, X91 and X-51 all have a 200khz transducer. If you run two at the same time you'll encounter problems. Needless to say running one at a time is fine, but both in tandem will result in interference, significant interference.

when you format the MMC format it with FAT not FAT32 for some reason it doesn't work with a MMC formated in FAT 32
Based on Willie's reply, then it doesn't make much sense for me to put the X51 on the bow.
Any suggestions or recomendations?
Why would Lowrance utilize the same frequencies? This doesn't make much sense to me as it would seem to cost them additional sales as it will in my case.

anyone have any more suggestions on these models.
also what should I put on the bow in the $200 range?
thinking I might possibly purchase:
Minn Kota Genesis 74AP 24V-74lbs-60" Auto Pilot w/Sonar
Any of you have this unit and what do you think of the sonar? Reeds has them for $1399.
