I had heard there is a fire in the glendo area. Does any one have any information on this fire?

It's across the interstate from Glendo on Laramie Peak. You can see the smoke from the interstate.

The fire that I heard about is at Larimie peaks which is a quite a ways west of Glendo. Some of the fire fighters are staying in the hotels at wheatland and Douglas so don't count on a room unless you have previous reservations.

FYI. A fire ban is also in effect for Glendo and all Wyo State parks. No campfires, charcoal grills, or cigarette smoking outside your vehicle. Propane charcoal grills are still OK to use to cook on at this time.
I would reccomend fishing in colorado I hear they are really biting there. Smoke at Glendo is pretty bad I hear there are times you can hardly breath when you are at Glendo.
The CWA (catch walleyes anywhere) except for colorado, is having there annual tournament this weekend at glendo, I will be at the I-25 exit selling fresh air masks to them as they file off the interstate as thick as the moth's that are exploding this year.

Really! Must have gotten real bad since last weekend when I was there. The fire is about 30 miles away from Glendo and you'd need a wind out of the southwest to take the smoke over Glendo. After 35 miles, the smoke pretty much dissipates. Come on down to Colorado and give your lungs a break!

I'm a little teary eyed.

It'll be just like home then. I brushed burned pine needles off my boat tarp yesterday. Ashes everywhere here. Walleye bite should be good with the smoke cover.

After a week and a half of breathing smoke from a 100,000+ acre fire that is less than 15 miles away, we won't need any help with dealing with smoke from a fire 30 miles away. Thanks for the offer anyway. Looking forward to the Glendo Tournament and the hospitality
of our good neighbors in Wyoming.
