Has anyone recently fisshed the Chisco Chain that borders Michigan and Wisconson. If so, any advice on pike and muskie fishing?
I think you must mean the Cisco Chain. I've fished a number of times but mostly for walleye. Thousand Island has a good population of northern pike, all the other lakes have them as well, I've just caught more in Thousand. I usually seem to catch the pike while trolling for walleye. A good spot is the outlet from Thousand to the channel to Cisco. This section of Thousand has good emergent weed growth. Troll a baby thunderstick or a crawler harness and you'll catch pike - mostly 2# to 4# fish though. The back end of Cisco Lake (in the bay by the outlet dam) has good weed growth and attracts pike as well. This chain is full of structure (sunken islands, wood, steep breaks...) and is fun to explore. Keep in mind that it is a border water and only the lakes that are completely in Michigan can be trolled. Big Lake for example is a border water - part in WI and part im MI - it can not be trolled. Have fun, and if you've never been out there, don't hit the big rock bar on Thousand Island and in the entrance to Fish Hawk, they're marked fairly well, but still be careful.
