Can anyone help? Want and plan to use 14# fireline this season for my InLine boards. Currently use Red and black offshore Medium pinch releases. Any advice ie: Twist, or setting of tension , on releases. I have used fireline with great success flatlining but seem to remember having it slip on boards. Thanks O wise and all knowing. Mr. Walleye clips work great on the fire line. No double wrapping with them.
Get them from Church Tackle

Hey buddy! I used the red release and the double wrap method for Fireline. I now have a better solution...Whiplash. I started using it last fall and it never pops a board. The line is thinner than Fireline and has none of the slimy feel that new Fireline has.

P.S. We missed you on the Wolf last weekend. We hammered the 'eyes!

Buy the Gary Roach boards, they are the only ones that I have found that will grip the Fireline. I don't agree with the "double wrapping" and all the other tricks that are necessary when using the Offshore boards, I promise you that you will lose some fish while attempting to get the boards off. If you must use the Offshore boards, loop a rubber band around the Fireline, and then place it in the clip, rather than the Fireline. When it comes time to reel it in, just reel as normal, and the Fireline will cut through the rubber band when the band reaches the first eyelet on your rod. As far as the Whiplash line is concerned, I spooled 2 of my reels with it, used it once, and then took it off and through it away. The stuff would break if you looked at it crosseyed. Maybe I just got a bad batch of it or something, but I'll never buy it again. Same thing for the Berkley "Vanish" line. That stuff is pure garbage. I love the Fireline and have it spooled on 14 reels, in the 10, 14, and 20 lb. test. I cannot believe that Berkley puts its good name on those other products.

Hey, thanks you guys!! I didn't get out last weekend. I'm not happy with my schedule so far this spring. Busy as ****. Now that I've made it through my own personal **** month + 2 weeks(Feb and first two weeks into March) it looks like the weather is going to take its DUMP on me too!
O'well I have to remember it's only 3-14. My time will come. I hope the fish hear that! LOL
I'll Keep checking the reports and be on the water soon, Boy I hope my Merc will start, LOL
