Has anyone tried using hi-vis Fireline or hi-vis Power pro for slip bobber fishing.I have been using Trilene XT Solar but have noticed that it frays with prolonged use.

I like using hi-vis fireline. I run it to a barrel swivel then a three foot piece of 6 or 8lb fluorocarbon. You can see and feel which way the fish is going better than regular mono. Durability is exceptional too.

I've used the hi-vis fireline with at least a three foot leader of mono[xl or vanish].Seems to work well for me.

I used to use Fireling but had trouble with the slip bobber knots holding. Have just switched to Trilene Vanish in the solar color which is high visibiltiy and it works great.

Keep it in the boat!

Have been slip bobbing with Fireline for 3 years and only had one knot come loose ONCE I started to REALLY wet the bobber-stop string before tightening. Also I do not just hand tighten, I hold the one end of string with pliers other end with teeth...I get to floss and fish at the same time.

I use FireLine and also had a few slipping stop knots.

My answer was to tie the slip snot with #30 Dacron and add a additional wrap on the line and top side of the slip knot, this solved it for me.

I also use #20 - #30 Berkley Big Cat mono line for slipfloating big catfish and the slip float knots would never stayed in place due to the size and thickness of the line, the weight of the floats, or the weight of the bait used. So I did the same thing as I do for FireLine and changed to #30 - #60 Dacron and added an additional wrap top & bottom to the slip/stop knot and they hold very well without line burn or curling of the mono.

If the knot is really being a pain, I may add 2 stop knots in a row to keep them from unwanted slippage.

I leave the tag ends of the knot 1/2" long and if it becomes loose I just tighten it up by pulling on the tags.
I love the Fireline for the no stretch hooksets ya get.
Seems like the high vis lines I have tried are bigger than normal mono and are harder to cast with more memory. Since ya have a bobber on the end it is a moot point and not needed.
