Just had the most exciting adventure in South Carolina with my sons. To get an alligator there, you must first hook, spear,or shoot with bow and have an attached line when doing so. Once the gator is pulled beside the boat you can dispatch with hand gun or bang stik. No shooting at gators until you have them beside the boat on an attached line. No long guns are permitted. You talk about a hard hunt. First day they would not let you get within 100 yds before submerging and they had not been harrassed at all. It was tough, but we managed an 8' 3" and 11' 450 lb. monster in two days of hunting with guide Kevin Davis out of Blacks Camp.
