Re: Two Active Pro Member #'s for sale.

Dear Members:

The NPAA currently has two Active Pro Membership Numbers for sale. The NPAA by-laws mandate that these be filled by the ranks of the Registered Pro Members.

Qualifying requirements are: 1) Must be a current Registered Pro Member for at least two years. 2) Must be fishing a tournament circuit which has a national championship. 3)Subit an application with biography and photo. 4) Submit the first years annual dues. 5) Submit bid on numbers with first selection of number (if highest bidder).

Bidding on the number is by silent auction with a one-time bid on the numbers. The highest bidder will choose which number he would like. The second highest bidder will receive the number left.

Following a review by the Membership Committee those two Registered Members will then be transfered to Active Pro status.

Deadline for application and bids to be received by the NPAA office is July 19, 2002.

Please contact the NPAA office at 605-223-9126 or e-mail me at anglers@dakota2k.net for an application or information about the auction.

Thank you members,

Jim McClelland

P.S. I also have enclosed this note that was posted by me and the board of directors last week.

Members:

The NPAA Board of Directors have indicated that they would like to hear some feedback on if members would be interested in a fall "Members Only" program. If so interested in participating in another
program, which products would you so like to see?

The board was thinking of hunting clothes, rainsuits, sunglasses, ice fishing tackle...things that a majority of NPAA members use.

Please send comments to me at anglers@dakota2k.net or call the NPAA office at 605-223-2136.

I would also like to inform everyone that the newsletters will soon be posted on our website (proanglers.org) All future issues will be posted at least on a quarterly basis...next issue in first week
of July.

Also, The board and I want to thank everyone for waiting out the delay on our database crash on our website...about 50 to 75 anglers are updated every day so check out your place on the site and see if everything is correct.

Thanks, and if you wish to comment about the fall "Members Only" program or anything else, please e-mail me or call.

Thanks & Good Fishing,

Jim McClelland & the NPAA Board of Directors

Jim,

Do you have a website that details the benefits of becoming an NPAA member??

I'm sure this has been hashed out here before, but do you the NPAA members feel the membership is worth your investment??

Thanks!!

If I would pay an extavagent amount of money for one of these numbers, what would I get in return for it? Is it something I can invest in and hope to sell in a few years and double my money? Why are these folks selling these numbers?

The question of why these numbers are for sale? Those professionals who has selected to sell their number are doing so for two reasons. The first is that according to the NPAA by-laws a Touring Pro Member must fish a complete circuit which has a national championship. A member can take a year off, but the following year they must show that they have entered a circuit. If not the number will transfer back to the NPAA and all proceeds will go to the NPAA for the sale to a qualifying NPAA Registerd Pro Member (has to be a member for at least two years). These touring pros may not fish a circuit next year and would like to then sell the number which brings me to number two. These numbers are worth whatever a NPAA Registered Member who wants to be a Touring Pro will put up. Purchases of numbers have went as low as $50 and as high as ?? thousand. Touring Pro members have the choice of selling their own number or having the NPAA sell it for them. The NPAA does not keep any of the number proceeds. All monies for the sale go to the outgoing NPAA Touring Pro Member.

If anyone wants further information on the NPAA or about the transfer of Touring Pro numbers, please go to proanglers.org or e-mail me at anglers@dakota2k.net
