Anyone know about Dakota Waters Resort on the south shore of Sakakawea north of Beulah, ND? How are facilities & fairly nearby fishing? (end of May or June) -- Is this close to downrigging for salmon water, or simply typical reservoir? Would appreciate what you can offer. Thanks.

Cisco,

I live near Dakota Waters and fish out of there many times a year. The area has a lot to offer for fishing. Dakota Waters has two ramps for easy access to and from the water. Beulah Bay is 2 miles north of there with a ramp also. Both places have fish cleaning stations as well.

Late May and early June should be excellent walleye fishing this year. Some salmon in the area too if you're interested.

Here's a web page that may be of interest to you as well. Email me if you have more questions. Maybe we can hook up and catch some fish!

In late may or early june the salmon should be very shallow and the sauger should be going around Riverdale, ofcourse dusty probably knows more about this than I do.That time of year is also getting near the prime time for the van hook arm.As far as Dakota waters resort goes, they are a first class operation with some of the friendliest resort owners on the lake. Dusty, are you fishing the dakota walleye classic? If so E-mail me. Dean

Don't know if you two guys have come back to this post, but wanted to thank you for the info. I could not access Walleye Central for some reason, but I guess others had the same problem. I may try to get to the Walleye Univ sessions in Bismark Apr 1 and should learn plenty there. Thanks again, and good fishing.

Sorry I didn't reply earlier, been bussssy.
Dakota Waters has about 6 or 8 small cabin rentals and RV camping(electric & primitive). They are located in a protective bay with dock, fish cleaning, convenience store, shower house, boat rental and guide service if needed. I get up there 3 or 4 times a year. The fishing in your time period should be good with Mid-June(walleyes) about best. If fishing in the immediate area is slow, we headquarter there and trailer to where we want to go. Garrison dam and tailrace is about 20 miles from there. Enjoy
